MY EXPERIENCE WITH THE INDIAN SHARE MARKET!

Its been quite long since i have written a blog,
I would like to share few things about my experience with the Indian Stock Market.

As i was in college i had to do an inplant training under any institution work for 15 days get reports and show how the work is done and what are the basics of it, and give a presentation on it.
I choose to work with one Broker - Motilal Oswal based in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.

At Motilal Office: I had to be there by 9 to office and it was completely new to me, i got a basic introduction that it has listed companies in the NSE and BSE and there s only 1% of Indians who are into share market i was told. all the basics i came to know during this 15 day program and then i  thought of opening a demat account just to know how it goes.

So i had no idea about the market or its volatility, what to buy and what to sell. So i randomly looked about the graphs of few companies and that time i found that pharma sectors had growth and since i had very little money i thought of buying stock which is a penny stock priced around 10-20Rs.
So i initially got Dr.Datson Labs share for around Rs.6.50/- saw old graphs which was around Rs.800/- each share and did the worst by not checking its fundamentals and buying it seeing news that it has got some big deal. I always thought that it would be easy and its simple to buy and sell any shares, but the stock soon had only sellers and all of sudden when i asked broker to sell he told me it has got froze and soon company got de-listed.

LESSON LEARNT: NEVER BUY PENNY STOCKS, buy stocks with good volume, fair PE Ratio, has good annual growth and has good fundamentals. Dont get tempted to buy cheap stocks.

Next was in Feb 2016, i asked my broker and they had given advice to buy Tata Steel and SBI shares.
I had bought those shares Tata@251 and SBI @ 163 since i had only around 10k and in a month fearing the prices will fall again i sold off my shares and booked profit of around 2k.
WHAT I LEARNT WAS TO BUY GOOD STOCK WITH HIGH VOLUME AND GOOD FUNDAMENTALS AT FAIR PRICE.

Then i was watching news and saw that Pipavav Defence company suddenly spiked up to Rs.100 in a day because news where given by our channels that it has got around 600 crore order and all that, and when it came back to 65 levels i bought few stock dreaming that it ll touch back to that levels was one mistake and again repeated the first mistake not seeing the fundamentals sold around Rs.30.
In July 2016 seeing news that logistics shares will be going up and all i hurried and bought allcargo @200 level and patel integrate@120 level, and sold @150 and @65 respectively.

NEVER BUY STOCK WATCHING NEWS, AND DONT FORGET THE FIRST RULE OF CHECKING THE FUNDAMENTALS, AS WELL AS PE RATIO.

Then i thought of trying something which most of the people told never do it in the share market if you are beginner but still i wanted to try it out, so i started off and trust me guys its very dangerous,
and should never borrow and try it out, i tried but u need a minimum of 50k for intraday and that too the brokerage charges also affect the trade as well, Motilal charges were around 12rupees for a trade below 50k and 0.03% for above. There are discount brokers like Zerodha but they dont give calls to buy. BETTER AVOID INTRADAY TRADING in my opinion.

Over the years i learnt a lot of things, and i am sharing this because these are the common mistakes any beginners would do, so if you have a good business or job must focus on that first, and then if you have a some to invest you can also try Mutual Funds which is much safer i think for people who cannot follow the market. There are lot of things which definitely i cannot portray in one blog.

There are lot of useful websites like Stockaxis.com which gives you complete details of the company with complete details and also trend can also be checked whether its in upward trend or downward, and moneycontrol.com also has all the information.

Kashmir!

Planning for an adventure:

Where do I start off, We were 8 Friends. We had planned that after Eid would go somewhere we never have been before. We were thinking and I thought why not Kashmir! It has been said that it is definitely a heaven on earth. So we started talking with our parents and were getting itinerary to calculate how much it would cost us. We were probably students back in August 2012, and it was difficult thing to convince everyone s parents also. Finally 8 of us calculated the route and we chose to travel by train.

                 Finally we decided to get to Delhi first, and then go to Kashmir. So we were all set to pack our bags and go. Never travelled that far with friends, so it was an excitement, thrill and adventure waiting.

Day 1 Delhi:

It was a long journey, Reached Delhi we could hardly find two wheeler s there, and it was really clean after all it was the capital of India. We stayed in a Hotel and then traveled in metro, first time we were travelling in it. We had arrived to Chandni Chowk and there had road side momos which were really good, and then went to jama masjid to try food in a well-known restaurant called Al Jawahar. Had chicken tikka, tandoori roti & butter chicken for dinner. It was delicious.

Day 2 Delhi:

The second day we went to Indira Gandhi museum- Qutub Minar - Red Fort – Lotus temple & India Gate. All the places had a rich history.

Then in the night we left from anand vihar station to Jammu.  

Day 1@ Kashmir:

From Jammu our package was starting, Nazir bhai was our trip in charge and guided us. A tempo had come to pick us up, the driver named Majeed Bhai had been humorous with us and enjoyed our company throughout the journey, and we 8 had settled down.

It took us around 5-6 hours to reach Srinagar; we could see a lot of military personnel around, to protect tourists from difficult circumstances. We could see the beautiful hills and the breeze was just amazing. It was a scenic beauty. Our jaws had dropped and we did the right thing travelling by road from Jammu to Srinagar.

Finally we reached Srinagar. Our stay was at Nazir bhai s place who welcomed us in his Shalimar Bungalow.

He gave us three bedrooms.  There were electrical blankets also available which are used during winters. The rooms were brilliant with Kashmiri shawls and curtains gave an authentic touch. We also included food in the package and it was homely food just felt like we were eating at home. Phew! Tired we slept.

Day 2@ Kashmir:

Had breakfast at Nazir bhai s place, Left for Shalimar Garden, It was a garden which I had never seen before. These gardens were enormous and huge and they were built by the Mughals during their period. Shalimar garden is the biggest in Kashmir. It was built by Mughal Emperor Jahangir in 1619.

  We had lunch at Nishat garden, and we left to Zabarvan Park where there was a helium balloon which took 4 people at a time in a basket, when it takes off the bucket shakes it is little scary at that point of time, but then we realize the beauty of Kashmir, we can see the Dal lake the gardens and the peaks of mountains just an amazing sight. We were almost 150 meters above ground and we there for a couple of minutes. It was just amazing.

Then we left off to Lal Chowk it was the market for retail, clothes, dry fruits, and other Kashmiri bags and clothes were sold here. Then we had left off to Chasme Shahi which was another garden but with flowing stream of water coming up from the mountains. We had gone to the top to drink it and really the taste was just brilliant.

 Day 3@ Kashmir:

We had got up early in the morning, today our destination was Sonamarg, and we had to travel around 80 km to reach the destination. Finally we reached, but further to see the spot we got horses for ourselves and were excited to go, we went near a frozen glacier. Usually at the time of December it’s completely covered up with ice. But we were in the month of August so it was clear and pleasant climate.

Then we head back to our bungalow pack up and shift to house boat on Dal Lake. We were excited to stay in a house boat. The boats are called shikara and we finally reached our house boat which was named DUKE OF WINSOR. We had a hall to watch TV, we had a dining hall to eat, and there were 3 rooms given with TV and attached toilets. So we were very much happy about the stay. We then had a visitor, he had come with various hand bags and Kashmiri dresses for sale.

          We then head to the house boat market to see it, there were all sorts of things sold, Saffron (Kesar) which is very much famous, we should buy it carefully because there is adulteration in some of it also. There were many shops in the house boat area were we visited. Leather jackets, sandals, Kashmiri shawls, Kashmiri handbags, dry fruits and curtains were majorly sold.

Day 4@ Kashmir:

Today we were going to Aharbal waterfalls which were around 30-40kms, on the way we stopped and saw the flowing water and were astonished by the color and chillness of water. Then we stopped nearby had lunch and went to a garden full of apple trees. We ate those delicious apples and head back home.

Day 5@ Kashmir:

It was Gulmarg traveled around 50 km, and it is cold up there in the mountains we were told to get the jackets and be prepared. Gondola ride is the best part of it; there are two phases of it. We had gone to the second phase and then climbed up the mountain. We had gone a long way up and the cold was severe.

There we saw a board that trespassers will be prosecuted, so we did not go further.

 There we played with ice, it was fun. It was 13000 feet high and we had maggi which was delicious.

Day 6@ Kashmir:

Today our destination was Yusmarg travelled around 50km, this was the one spectacular place that I loved the most. We were riding on horses in the middle of forest and all of sudden it started drizzling it got cold. Cold winds blew around making scary sounds in the forests. We then came down to a flowing water stream which is called the DOOD GANGA and sat there for a while. The scenery I still have it pictured it was the most beautiful place I had ever been. Riding on the horses in the forests I felt for a while we were in a stone age and felt relaxed because the peace and silence, birds chattering, it’s priceless. Definitely this place was brilliant and must to go.

Day 7@ Kashmir:

We had packed up and now we were heading over to Pahalgam which was around 90km. We then reached Pahalgam and then we got ready to see a spot which was called Baisaran(Mini Switzerland). We definitely had a good time there and again horse ride to reach the spots. Almost every spot we had travelled by horses.

We could find a stream flowing nearby and as kids we started playing there in the water and found that it was freezing cold.

Day 8@ Kashmir:

We were ready, today we had planned to see the deer park and do river rafting. As we were travelling we could see there was a lot of crowd in the park waiting for someone. We found out that it was Shahrukh Khan who had come for shooting Jab Tak Hai Jaan with Anushka Sharma.

                After seeing the park we had gone to the spot where river rafting was done. Got ready with life jacket on. It was an awesome experience.

The end:

It was hard to leave such a beautiful place, but it was time to go home. We returned back after 15 days.The best 15 days of my life. Those moments spent with close friends are just worth it. In case if you are confused of going somewhere in India your first priority should be Kashmir. Next on my exploration list is Ladakh to explore. Sponsors please call. LOL! 

Paper Boat!!!

I had got a mail from the company regarding they wanted me to try the new flavors and give them the reviews about it, a Gurgoan based company.  I gave them my address and was waiting for their unique flavors to come so that I could try something new.  Firstly I thought it’s a kind of syrup which is mixed with water and served but then as I read about it on their webpage I found it’s a ready-made drink. Just refrigerate it and have it.

So I got all the flavors to try it out.

Mango people, Mango lovers this one drink is surely a must try for you. It has a unique taste with the true taste of mango. The most eaten fruit in india must be mango and after-all its our national fruit. 

jaljeera:

My personal favorite was jaljeera. I just love this flavor from all the others. It has a mix of lemon water and jeera.  A fact I love jaljeera is because it has the properties of give soothing effect and gives you aid in digestion after a heavy meal.

imli ka amlana: Imli ka amlana is purely made of imli, and the best part about these juices are that they don’t have preservatives so it’s not harmful in anyway to us.

Golgappe ka pani probably u can get golgappas and then fill it up with this juice and try it out. I did try it out it has tangy taste and did enjoy having golgappas with it.

 

 Overall:

The best part about paper boat is their bottles are very much unique and there is least content of plastic in it. This bottle is very much attractive and the best part is that it is ready to serve ones. No mixing water and stuff, just cool it and drink it.

                    One suggestion to paper boat I would like to give is that they should make ordinary flavors also which include orange, lemon, watermelon, grape because this will also be a definite hit. Most people are very adamant and just go for their regular flavor of juices. And market certain flavors accordingly, example Aamras will definitely be a hit in Gujarat because I have been to Gujarat several times and it’s been consumed a lot there.

Little Italy

 I had heard of the much famous Italian restaurant "Little Italy" which is a franchise based in Mumbai, and was waiting for a long time to try it, and finally the day came. I had certain knowledge about the Italian cuisine which was pasta, lasange, spaghetti etc. Until i came to know the wide varieties available at Little Italy.

Little Italy: (Vegetarian Restaurant):

   We started off  with a Pizza which was called "Pavarotti" which had fresh tomato sauce, mozzarella, temphe, mushrooms, onions, sun-dried tomatoes and Parmesan Cheese. It was wood burn pizza which was

evenly cooked and which had a thinner crust than the regular pizza's. Add the oregano spice which gives a different pinch and flavor to it.

The second dish we had was Lasange Alla Napoletana which had layers of pasta, bechamel sauce, tomato sauce, basin, mozzarella and ricotta cheese sauce baked in oven. It was definitely the best lasange i ever had.

The third we had ordered Crocchette Spinaci e Ricotta which had mashed potatoes mixed with spinach and ricotta cheese and rolled over bread crumbs and it was served with fresh green salad. It was simply fantastic.

  The last we had ordered Pasta Barbaresca which consisted of creamy sauce with fresh broccoli, tomatoes, garlic, parsley, Parmesan cheese and chilli pepper. Desserts were also good, Chocolate bomb was one to look out for.

    Sadly it is only vegetarian and its a little high priced. If you are a food lover and have been bored of the daily dal and rice and want to try something new then definitely this is the place to be. Truly Italian.

Aliyar -Temple of consciousness

Aliyar Ashram:

Yogiraj Shri Vethathiri Maharishi  (1911-2006) was a spiritual leader and he is the founder of the ashram in Aliyar. This place has got all the facilties for a large group to stay. I had visited this place as a part of our outbound training program in college.

  The surroundings and environment is really good and  this place gave a lot of knowledge  by the Kayakalpa yoga course and other meditation courses. The word taught by our teachers was "Valga Vaiyagam, Valga Valamudan" meaning "Live prosperously blessed with wealth and health". This Tamil word is the mantra of the ashram.

 We had stayed there for three days and the food was good and healthy. Our yoga sessions used to start off from early morning. We were approximate 200 of them and we used to gather in the auditorium and get seminars on various topics like how to control anger, how to live peacefully and satisfied, moral values etc.

We also received a certificate regarding our course.

The area has mountains and rivers nearby, and there is Aliyar dam nearby, you can also visit monkey falls which will 30-40 mins approximately from Pollachi. From Aliyar Dam the distance of monkey falls is just one and half kms. The pictures taken are all inside the ashram premises.

   We had a nice and peaceful time in the Ashram. If you want a break from the daily chores of work then you can look for this place.

Tuscany Pizza :)

In India, Pizzas are also not been ate on daily basis but occasionally. In Coimbatore you can find big names such as Pizza Hut, Domino's etc. Here s a new one which has capability to compete with others. It is called "Tuscany Pizza". 

TUSCANY PIZZA : (Veg/Non veg)

This place has been newly commenced and it has a lot of varieties of Pizza and other eateries.

There was a combo  which includes a veg pizza, two garlic breads and a coke. We had ordered a lunch combo of non veg pizza, two garlic breads & a coke which was of Rs119 (excluding tax). 

The non veg pizza was approx. 6-7 inches and was cooked properly with mozzarella cheese and chicken.

The garlic bread were pretty mediocre. 

We had also ordered a Tuscany chicken strips which were pretty crispy and it was delicious. It tastes good with garlic sauce.
 

Overall we were satisfied by the food, we wanted to try more of it, but could not because we were completely stuffed. And this was the first time i had visited it and will surely come again.

Trip to Mudumalai National Park :)

   I have been to Mudumalai National Park twice. The first time was quite a thrilling experience. It was probably four years back, and we had hired a mini bus. We were 8 of them. From Coimbatore to Masinagudi it took probably 5 hours. The sanctuary is divided into 5 ranges - Masinagudi, Thepakadu, Mudumalai, Kargudi and Nellakota. Here one can often spot herds of endangered Indian elephants, vulnerable Gaur and Chital. Mudumalai is also a Tiger Reserve.

   

Journey Begins:

We had started our journey by leaving at 10 a.m. The route which we preferred was Coimbatore-Ooty-Gudalur-Mudumalai-Masinagudi-Mavanalla.

  We reached Ooty by 1p.m and had a halt there to have lunch. We had in a local restaurant which was mediocre.

 Then we head off to Masinagudi, and we were all set with the cameras to capture any animal which was sighted. All were keenly looking outside and we all spotted a herd of elephants. Enthralled, we began clicking pictures and taking videos. But then our vehicle was caught by the forest officials and fined us Rs.1000, which was uncalled for. We started arguing that we didn't know about such things, and then we showed our Id card to the officials which resulted in reduction of the fine amount to Rs.500.   Moving on, It was around 5p.m, we had reached Mudumalai and then we had to search for a decent place to spend the night. So from there we head towards masinagudi which was around 7 km, but still couldn't find a place which was fine, so we moved to Mavanalla and we found a place called "Beverly hills-eco camp".

        There we decided to go for night safari, so after having our dinner we were all ready and stuffed ourselves in a local gypsy. It was pitch black and we could not see anything except the lights of our vehicle.

Initially we were frightened and numb but then got use to the dark. We saw spotted dear which were harmless.

And then we moved further and saw a Indian Bison (Gaur), standing alone and provoked.

After that, we saw two elephants fighting each other and by that sight our driver had instructed to leave before we jeopardize ourselves. So we left from there and we moved on. We all were hoping to see a leopard or a tiger and we were told that if your lucky you could probably find one. But we were unfortunate.

               Next day, we left to Pykara lake which was around 30 km and it took us about an hour to reach. We went there and the water was freezing cold.

     After that we were aimlessly loitering around the market in Ooty, we did purchase a lot of home made chocolates and Nilgiri tea. There are a lot of places in Ooty which are botanical garden, rose garden, ooty lake which are places to look out for.

 One of the distinct places to see if you like nature, wildlife, safari and trekking. This was one different adventure and it was a "rejuvenating experience".

BURGER! :O

    In India, Burgers are not being ate on a daily basis but yeah one would love to have occasionally. Burger is one of my favorites and in Coimbatore city there are big names like KFC, Marry brown, but Mcdonalds yet to come. Other than that, there are a few of them who can make a stand.

BURGER HUB:(Veg/Non-Veg)

  

 One of my friend had come over from Chennai and he asked me I want to have a "Burger" and the only thing i could think of is Burger Hub because it serves "cheesy delicious burgers". Its been more than a year and over this period they are improving. Initially the place had seats which were uncomfortable, but now they replaced it. If you love cheesy burgers with mayo then definitely this place should be on your list.

The different variety of burgers available are Regular, Jumbo chicken, Double cheese & Burger ki Baap. Chicken Shawrma & hot dog also available, but my verdict burgers taste better.   

Fries are soft not crunchy. They taste good with the garlic sauce.
A Combo includes 4 jumbo burger, with 2 fries and 2 pepsi pet bottles just for Rs.370

My Trip to Heaven! :) GOA!

   I am living in Coimbatore, which is the Manchester of South India. I have got few amazing friends. I was in my first year of college and it was pretty good. One day i had gone to watch a Tamil movie which was called "Goa" and after watching that movie, I and my friends decided that we ll surely go to Goa and have a wonderful time.
     
Initially we had decided to go in the summer vacation, and we had to convince our parents at home for money and stay in Goa. We had searched for it in websites like makemytrip.com etc and finally we stayed in a decent hotel with good facilities.

     It was 4 of us. And everything was ready, tickets booked and hoping for no last minute cancellation *fingers crossed*. We had left to Shornur (a place in Kerala) and there we got our train which was Okha express and reached our destination Madgaon, then we had an hour journey towards Calangute. We stayed in Ondas Do Mar Beach Resort, which was close to the Calangute beach, is just an extension of Baga beach and had checked in for 5 days.

    The first day we had gone to see the Church which was St.Francis Xaviers Church which was built in the 16th century. It was a massive structure which had very old artifacts. Then we had food in a local restaurant, and went to our hotel and had a nice swimming session after that we steered ourselves to Calangute beach which was beautiful.
By the night we were aimlessly loitering in search for some more fun, but then we visited a local pub, called Rio, It didn't give us what we wanted.   

    We wanted the second day to be adventuresome, So the second day we decided to go for adventure sports and we did. Para-sailing was the best experience. Banana boat ride, Jet skiing was also good. Then in the night we decided to go sailing in a cruise which was called "Princesa". There was a tribal dance and they showed us all the exotic places which were pretty nice.

  
   Third day, we had been driving across and it was tough to find a petrol station in Goa, so we had to purchase it from a kirana store who sold for twice the prices. Then we found one petrol station around 10 kms away and fuelled it and then we went to see the Fort Aguada which was in the Sinquerim Beach. It was a fine structure built by the Portuguese.

Then while we were returning back to our hotel we saw a poster that there was a live concert which starts of by 7.30 @ Miramar and K.K was the singer and we planned that we will surely go for it. And we reached the place by 8 it was crowded and i was amused and we had realised that we dont have the passes to go inside.
And we were waiting outside hoping someone could help us out, we waited for a while and thought we should leave and all of a sudden there was a person who shouted "hey you want tickets" and i said "yes sir, how much is it" he said "its free Go! Enjoy" And there it was K.K singing all his super hit songs.
That was a beautiful night! :)

 But the night wasn't over yet. It was 11pm and we head to Tito's which was an electrifying experience.There was a dance floor and the music was mind boggling. We danced and grooved all night and it was a nice experience.

 Fourth day: We usually had our breakfast in our hotel and then lunch and dinner outside. And as usual we use to go to beach and rest in the beautiful sands. The day was usual and then night we had gone to Baga beach, which was lively in the night and we had our dinner there watching T20 finals England vs Australia.

 After watching the match we were walking on the streets and i met the comedian Srikanth Maski and clicked pics with him. Clicking pics with a celebrity is rare chance and we got that chance. And then our beautiful time in Goa had come to an end. Next day morning we checked out and left. Did not feel like leaving this beautiful place but had to :(

I had the best experience of my life. Goa is famous for its Beach, Resorts, Sea Food, Clubs and Casinos.
